Adam and Eve

This weeks challenge at iheartfaces.com is pets. I have never done a challenge before, but I figured with our new baby I would give it a shot!

We have a new addition to the family. Eve is six weeks old, and a bundle of energy! Since they do not stay puppies forever, I grabbed some pictures of her cuteness. I found it more fun when she attacked the lens everytime it clicked. With the girls, she is not lacking in attention at all! Adam is in the process of teaching her how to be a hunting lab. :)

Annie

I recently finished "Sh*t my Dad Says" by Justin Halpern. It is a very funny book, and reminds me much of my Dad. It also got me thinking about what Annie says. You never know what to expect from her. Her Grandma's favorite is when we are at the table and she pipes in and says, "Speaking of days, how was your day?" We were not talking about days. My favorite is when my husband and I were telling her about how close we were to having alone time. Without a blink of an eye she replied, "You had alone time in 1999 before Abby was born." When she gets into trouble she will cry and say, "I just don't know what has gotten into me!" I am sure if I think about it, more will pop into my head. Either way, I highly suggest "Sh*t my Dad Says" only to people who can handle the language. I laughed out loud!

July 25th 2008

I am once again digging into past pictures. These were taken 2 years ago at Mom's house. The girls have had a bunch of cameras. None of them the best, but they do the job. The girls were so young in these pictures. Time flies when you are having fun, and they are my idea of fun. The first picture is Colleen's use of the camera. She was drinking a glass of milk and thought this was a great time to break out the camera. Then there is Abby. She too likes to take pictures of herself, but she gets into these pictures. She was 8 years old, and a camera hog. There are tons of pictures with goofy expressions. Missing her two front teeth didn't help either. Annie doesn't smile the best when I take her picture. Everyone says she will get over it, but we will see. Then she gets the camera and takes her picture. There is this great pictures with Annie cooking with Grandpa. So cute! As you probably know, they don't just take pictures of themselves. There are also some other pictures to mention. The floor and random cars are often deleted. I should keep them for CSI purposes. They might need a reflection that is only found in my picture. Nah, DELETED! The stove, door, air vent, open cabinets (and this is where we keep the glasses,) kitchen table, grass, close up of a hand, and the DS are also deleted. Sorry Mom, I know you wanted a picture inside of your kitchen cabinet. So out of 88 pictures, I will keep half of them. One that I will not show, but will be used later, is a picture of Colleen picking her nose. Yes, she took it herself.

A girl after my own heart

Abby is told any time someone meets her that she looks just like me. I have heard it since the day she was born. When I get mad at her, it is normally because I see what I don't like about myself in her. Things I have worked on changing in myself are showing up again in Abby. Being mean just because she thinks it is funny. Then there are the things I see in her that I love. She is organized and keeps her room clean. I tell her it needs to be clean, but, unlike her sisters, she doesn't complain when she cleans. She also has an eye for pictures that I wouldn't see. I gave a small camera to her for our trip to Chattanooga and just let her go. She followed me around, and took the same pictures I did. Then I told her to take her own pics. And here are two that she shot... I love them both. The upside down one is...well...upside down, but still a great picture. Then the one of Colleen and Annie is just sweet. The camera has a spot from someone dropping it in the pool. Not going to mention who, but I am sure she didn't do it on purpose. All of these pictures are hers. I cropped one of them, and changed the color on one...other than that, they are all hers.

My sweet girls

This last week the girls went to Vacation Bible School. They had such a great time, and are making good friends at church. At the Family night, Annie was a little girl's best friend. Annie went on the big slip and slide with her, and wasn't even asked. Annie enjoyed helping her. Abby was with me cheering all the kids as the ran down the slide. She made a friend, and then they chased her friend's baby brother around. Colleen was playing with her friend that she met in her class. I only saw her on the slip and slide. Then she was gone again. In the girl's mind all kids have the same beliefs that they do.

Friday night we went to a get together at a guy the Adam works with. We had a blast! The guys wanted to take their bikes to this trail down the road, so the kids jumped in my truck and off we went. The girl's VBS cd was in the radio, so they were singing along with it all the way there. Then one of the little girls told Annie that God is not real. Annie was in shock! She was mad that she was saying that. Annie told her that he is real. The little girl said, "You can't see him! So he is not real!" Annie asked her, "Can you see the wind?" Then I told them to stop yelling at each other. At 5 years old, this little girl was told not to believe in God. Annie gave her a great answer that she learned in Sunday School in Oklahoma. My cousin Heath talked to the kids about the wind, so she was obviously listening.

On the way home, Annie told her sisters what the little girl said. Abby asked what we should do, because she needs to understand the God is real. I said we can pray, and the next time we play with her they can tell her about God and that He IS real. It was a quiet trip home that night. All three girls were in the back praying for this little girl.

My Prego Friend!

I love the pregnant belly! I also was the one who will not touch the tummy because I know I got tired of it. People who do not even know you will ask to touch your belly. Or, even worse, they just touch it without asking. Anyways, I got to take pictures today of my friend's belly. It was so much fun! She was relaxed and didn't care what we did. Makes it even easier ;)
